Test Equipment
All 30-test cells have a comprehensive level of base instrumentation, which is expanded to meet the requirements of individual test programmes. All cells have access to exhaust emission analysers and incorporate data logging and test control via CP Engineering Cadet engine test systems.
One of the test cells has been modified so that the engine can operate inclined at up to 45° in roll and pitch axes, simultaneously if required. This is useful for on and off-road powertrain development and validation for operation on inclines and it is used with high performance engines simulating high-G operation.
Additional specialist test equipment includes:
AVL Indimasters incorporating RTP and Knock analysis
AVL Indisets
AVL optical crank encoders
Kistler spark plug mounted in-cylinder pressure transducers
Kistler in-cylinder pressure transducers
Intake CO2 analyser systems for measurement of external EGR
Ignition and Fuel control systems
Engine Event Monitors
ECM and Horiba UEGO systems
Horiba TEOM particulate measurement
AVL Smoke meter
ETAS, ASAP, EMS interfaces
